Our Love Story (Part II)
Our story (PART II)
… Luis had a broken heart for 15 minutes, We had a blast at the bars and clubs hanging out with my friends, Kiki and her man were also there with us but I want to think that Luis understood right away that it wasn’t meant to be and he seemed ok with it.
My friend Kiki arrived with 4 other girls (photos) and I moved in with them as well, so the 6 of us became roommates. These girls came at the right time and the right moment. The 6 of us lived together only for 1 month and then I moved in with one of the other 4 girls, Aide. We connected immediately and loved the idea of living together. We both believe in angels…
I still had a boyfriend that was living in Cancun (1.5 hrs away from Playa del Carmen). Since I wasn’t available to date, I never gave up on the idea of Luis dating my friends, so I introduced him to the other 4 roommates. January to March, He kept hanging out with all of us and my friends kept asking if I was blind to see that he wasn’t interested in them, he was interested in me! I didn’t want to see it nor admit it since I wasn’t “available”.
During all this time, Luis had been applying to get transferred to the Fairmont in Lake Louise and he finally got accepted and soon was going to move to Canada.
I on the other hand was having trouble with my mini long distance relationship. I was asking for signs to know if I should continue or break up with him and I got one. I received a piece of information by email about my boyfriend (at the time) that changed everything. I ended the relationship that same day.
When Luis found out I had broken up, he told me about his plans of moving to Canada and also told me he was in love and had been in love with me for a few months now.
OH MY GOD! Listening to those words come from his mouth have been one of the best and scariest moments of my life at the same time.
Finally I was free and available but had literally just ended a 1 year relationship 5 hours ago. We had absolutely no time left to figure out what the “perfect time” to date was since he was leaving in 3 weeks to Canada.
Clock was ticking fast and furious!! How was I going to jump into a relationship if I was just coming out of one?
Life is a matter of choices and you can’t really stop and think all the time about what other people would think; that was the only thing stopping me from dating this amazing guy, other people’s opinions…
I took a leap of faith and started dating Luis. We had the best 3 weeks of our lives. We knew our time together was quickly fading away and we had no time to waste.
A family wedding came up in Tepoztlan, a beautiful magical town near Mexico City. I invited Luis to the wedding but also was able to fit some family meet and greets in that same vacation. First we had to visit my hometown, Guadalajara, so he could meet my parents. Then attend the wedding where he would meet my father’s side of the family, after the wedding we would go to Mexico City so I could meet his family and then we would go separate ways, I would go back to Playa del Carmen and he would fly to Calgary.
First Stop: Guadalajara.
Something very interesting happened here. We landed and went directly to my naturopath’s appointment, she is very spiritual and receptive to certain vibes and energies (angels).
I really wanted to see her since she is also a psychologist and therapist and due to the circumstances I felt I needed some sort of guidance.
As soon as she sees me she tells me I look radiant, happy, glowing, amazing, etc. I told her a little bit about our story and background and she listened to everything I had to say and then she asked me:
-What would you do if he asks you to marry him?
I said of course I would say NO, we’ve only dated for 3 weeks!
Then she asked me:
– Would you say no to a proposal and then let him give all this love to another person?
I responded: No.
So she asked again:
-What would you say if Luis asks you to marry him?
I said: Say yes.
I did understand her analogy and where she was coming from, it wasn’t like Luis was going to propose anyways…
