Motherhood changed me
My body today is the consequence of 2 beautiful human beings created inside this 5’1” body, isn’t this crazy??? My body was able to create Camila and then Luca and for a short period a baby angel that decided heaven was a better place than here.
It’s increíble to think that for a few months I had 2 hearts, another pair of lungs, even a penis inside my body and I mean like living inside, not just visiting 😏😜.
I was an emotional wreck at post partum after Camila was born, she was my first baby and with the first pregnancy my body changed drastically, there was no doubt in my mind I would never be the same as I was before and I was right about that, 5 years ago, I was only focusing on the outside, just thinking on my body and focusing on the things I was not going to ever be able to do, like wearing a bikini.
Back in the day, I was a photo model, an actress that relied a lot on her image to get called to work on tv or photoshoots. My ego was crushed and was getting in the way of looking at everything from a different perspective, now I know that “your ego is not your amigo”.
Motherhood has help me tame the ego and look at things from a loving perspective, from a place of kindness towards me and the people around me. Love starts within, it’s impossible to have a healthy relationship with others if you do not have a healthy relationship with yourself. Today, I am aware that motherhood did change me, I am definitely not the same person that I was before having children. It has been a long journey, I can tell you that the most important thing that I’ve learned is patience… I’m not great at it but do understand that things take time. Before kids I wanted everything right away and if it wasn’t happening I always had the freedom to move on to another thing. I was FREE to make any choice, good or bad and only think about me. Today, motherhood doesn’t allow me to only considerate my consequences, more people now benefit or suffer the outcome of my decisions and this has helped me grow. I don’t always have my shit together but feel the need to have a positive mindset and start from there. I think it’s a great start, do you?
What makes me different from any other person that also became a mother and is going through the same thing? Everything and nothing. I am just exactly like you yet totally different, we all are. Isn’t this beautiful? We are all so very unique, we all have a story, and I’m just telling mine and using the tools to share it with anyone who is drawn to read it.
Why do I post and blog and share my life on social media, vlog on YouTube and use these little “life squares” to share?
Because I’ve been inspired by others who do the same and feel that I am in a great place thanks to the people I choose to follow online. Best part, they do not live in my same City, Country or even the same Continent. These people have inspired me in many different ways. There are millions of people on social media but I like, them. I choose them and vibe with what they share. I know they crossed my path for a reason and I am grateful for them.
Yes, social media is a crazy subject with many opinions and perspectives. Social media uses ### to reach a niche, I remember 4 years ago I refused to use a hashtag seriously. But thanks to these hashtags we can find what we are looking for and what we are looking for can turn in to something magnificent.
Instagram profiles like:
@jannerobinson , @evancarmichael @summerperez @danikabrysha just to name a few make me smile, make me feel inspired.
I do not have the reach that these people above have, I am not famous nor popular and have less than 1000 people following on my personal Instagram @aliserami and still get heart warming messages online and comments in person from people I bump in at the gym or the street that say, thank you your blog inspired me, thank you for sharing, thank you I needed to read that… oh my goodness!! This means the world to me, it means I am fulfilling my purpose to help or inspire! my heart, my brain, my body all just say yes! You are in the right track, keep doing what you are doing. If I could help one person then it’s all worth it.I am excited to continue sharing with the hopes that my daughter and son read this in a few years and smile.
What is my why??
To inspire people to live their life as happy and full as possible knowing that we all are capable of grand things if you believe and achieve, share and care, live with an attitude of gratitude and do everything from love.
Better yet, if it can inspire, change, help at least just one person, that for me has meaning and fulfills my purpose.
Thank you for reading.
